Scholastics:

Brooke completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) at the University of Delaware (Newark, DE) in January 2014.  She previously graduated from John Carroll University (University Heights, OH) with a Biology Degree in 2011.  She attended North Allegheny High School in her hometown of Wexford, Pennsylvania which is north of Pittsburgh.

Credentials and Continuing Education:

Brooke is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT). Her CMPT is through The North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). She plans on continuing her studies with NAIOMT with the goal of a COMT next. Her other continuing education training includes MovementLinks, the McKenzie Method (low back and neck), SFMA (level 1), and more. Brooke is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and Oregon Physical Therapy Association (OPTA). Brooke is a certified road running coach through the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA).

Experience:

Brooke has been practicing outpatient orthopedics physical therapy since graduating physical therapy school 7+ years ago. In school, her rotations included pediatrics, acute care, orthopedics, and inpatient neurology, however, the majority of her training is in orthopedics. Since graduation, she has practiced at several orthopedic locations in the Portland area which has exposed her to various populations.

Achievements:

Brooke has achieved many academic achievements including attending one of the top 5 nationally ranked physical therapy programs.  She continues to push herself through personal physical achievements including running. Brooke has ongoing goals in continuing education within the physical therapy field.

Hobbies:

Brooke’s hobbies include trail running, circuit training, a little yoga, hiking, rock climbing, and eating.  She loves running in Forest Park and the Columbia River Gorge and is a member of a Northwest District climbing gym. She also enjoys listening to and reading about various lifestyle and health subjects.
