Background/Education:
Andrew Robertson grew up in San Diego, CA, and graduated from Pepperdine University with a B.S. in Sports Medicine. He then moved to Chicago and received his DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) from Northwestern University. He went on to live and work as a physical therapist in outpatient orthopedic settings in Chicago for several years before transitioning to Portland to be closer to family.
Continuing Education:
Andrew has continued his education through a variety of courses including the McKenzie Method, or Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), the Graston Technique (Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization), manual therapy for the spine and soft tissue injuries/trigger points, rehab for running injuries, and ACL injury prevention and recovery, among others.
Experience:
Andrew trained in a variety of settings as a Student Physical Therapist, including outpatient orthopedics, acute care, and a skilled nursing facility. Upon graduation, Andrew found his passion in outpatient orthopedics, treating a variety of patient populations and injuries including spinal pain, running injuries and other sports related injuries, post operative rehabilitation, chronic pain and work-related injuries. He enjoys treating patients from a wide range of ages, from youth to older adults.
Andrew enjoys getting to know his patients on a personal level and making treatment fun and engaging throughout their rehab journey. He loves being able to tie specific symptoms and limitations to a patient’s functional goals in order to achieve lasting health and wellness moving forward.
Hobbies:
Outside of work, Andrew loves spending time with his wife and daughter, exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, reading and music. He also enjoys exploring the outdoors by going to the beach, going on walks/hikes, running and biking.
