Ava Scoccia, PT, DPT

She/Her

Whole Body Health PT @ NW Portland

Scholastics:

Ava earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy with distinction from Pacific University. During graduate school, she served as Wellness Chair of her class, supporting student well-being and community connection. She completed her undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Fredonia, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Public Health, graduating summa cum laude.

Continuing Education:

Ava has pursued continuing education to support her specializations in pelvic health, TMJ disorders, hypermobility, and orthopedic care. Her coursework includes training through the American Physical Therapy Association Pelvic Health Academy, the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, and courses focused on Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders and Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes.

Experience:

Ava joins Whole Body Health Physical Therapy’s NW clinic after spending time at our sister clinic, Mendwell Pelvic Health, where she worked with people across the lifespan, from adolescents to older adults, on a variety of pelvic floor conditions. Her pelvic health experience includes perinatal care, pelvic pain, prolapse, and issues related to incontinence.

Ava has a special interest in helping patients with pelvic health concerns, TMJ dysfunction, and hypermobility-related conditions feel more confident and supported in their bodies. She brings a whole-person approach to care, considering how the jaw, spine, pelvis, joints, nervous system, and movement patterns may all contribute to a patient’s symptoms and goals.

In addition to her pelvic health experience, Ava completed clinical rotations in outpatient orthopedics, pediatrics with early intervention, and acute care. These experiences helped shape her thoughtful, adaptable approach to working with patients across different ages, needs, and stages of healing.

Hobbies:

Outside the clinic, Ava enjoys exploring the connection between art and movement through ballet, barre, and Pilates classes. She also enjoys making art and spending time in nature.
