Our therapists combine hands-on therapy, corrective exercise, movement analysis, and patient education to promote healing and long-term wellness.

What Sets Our Northwest Portland Physical Therapy Clinic Apart
Exceptional physical therapy care requires more than short-term symptom management. It takes clinical expertise, individualized attention, and a comprehensive recovery strategy that supports patients both inside and outside the clinic. At Whole Body Health Physical Therapy, we emphasize continuity of care, evidence-based treatment, and long-term results for patients throughout Northwest Portland.
One-on-One Care with a Doctor of Physical Therapy
Every appointment is provided directly by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Your treatment is never delegated to assistants or support staff, allowing for consistent care and personalized treatment at every stage of recovery. Our experienced therapists combine advanced clinical training with ongoing education to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.
Whole-Body Treatment Approach
Pain and dysfunction are often connected to movement patterns throughout the body, not just one isolated area. Our Northwest Portland physical therapy clinic evaluates biomechanics, posture, strength, flexibility, and daily movement habits to identify the root causes of discomfort. This whole-body approach helps restore function, improve mobility, and reduce the likelihood of future injuries.
Coordinated, Collaborative Care
When appropriate, we collaborate with physicians, surgeons, chiropractors, and other healthcare providers involved in your care. This coordinated approach helps ensure treatment remains aligned with your overall health goals while supporting better communication and continuity throughout the recovery process.
Focus on Long-Term Injury Prevention
In addition to treating current pain and injuries, we help patients build long-term resilience through customized prevention strategies. Ongoing guidance, corrective exercises, mobility training, and self-management education are incorporated into care plans to help patients stay active and reduce the risk of re-injury.
Comfortable and Inclusive Environment
Our clinic is designed to provide a welcoming and accessible experience for patients of all backgrounds and mobility levels. Private treatment spaces and patient-centered amenities help create a comfortable setting where individuals can focus fully on recovery and rehabilitation.
Convenient Payment and Insurance Options
We accept most major insurance plans and welcome Worker’s Compensation cases. Our team assists with insurance verification and provides clear information about expected treatment timelines and recommended visit frequency. Flexible payment options are also available for patients seeking affordable care solutions.
Customized Home Exercise Programs
Recovery does not stop when your appointment ends. Every patient receives a personalized home exercise program tailored to their condition, goals, and stage of recovery. Exercises may include mobility work, stretching, strengthening, posture correction, and functional movement training to reinforce progress between visits and support lasting results.
Starting Physical Therapy in NW Portland
Request Your Appointment
Getting started with physical therapy in NW Portland begins with a simple appointment request. You can call our clinic or schedule online at a time that works for you. New patients are welcome, and booking ahead is recommended so we can reserve the right appointment time for your needs. Many people wonder whether they need a referral before starting PT. In most cases, you can begin treatment without one.
Initial Evaluation
Your first visit includes a detailed, one-on-one evaluation with a professional physical therapist. Instead of focusing only on the area that hurts, we look at how your full body moves and functions. Your assessment may include posture and movement analysis, range of motion testing, strength testing, and a review of daily activities that may be contributing to your symptoms. If you are new to physical therapy and wondering whether treatment will be painful, our approach is gentle, progressive, and centered on your comfort.
Personalized Treatment Plan
After your evaluation, your physical therapist creates a treatment plan based on your condition, goals, lifestyle, and activity level. This may include in-clinic therapy, guided movement, and exercises you can safely continue at home. Your therapist will also explain what to expect, how often you may need to come in, and how your progress will be measured. We can also answer questions about what to bring, insurance coverage, and the cost of physical therapy.
Hands-On Treatment
Physical therapy sessions may include manual therapy, targeted exercises, movement retraining, and patient education. Your therapist may use hands-on techniques to improve joint mobility, reduce soft tissue restrictions, and support better movement patterns. Treatment is adapted to your needs, whether you are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, improving mobility, or trying to avoid surgery.
Progress and Prevention
As your symptoms improve, your plan shifts toward building strength, restoring flexibility, and helping prevent future injuries. We monitor your progress and update your exercises as your body responds to treatment. The goal is not just short-term relief, but long-term function, confidence, and a safe return to the activities you enjoy near you in NW Portland and beyond.
What Our Clients Are Saying
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 5/5
“I tried PFPT at another provider before, and needed to stop going after 5 sessions and before treatment was finished due to my insurance situation. I've now had 3 sessions thus far with Kim Pentecost at Whole Body Health, and I'm already having breakthroughs that I never had last time! I feel really hopeful this go around. Kim is great! Everyone in the office is kind and helpful.” - Carlyn S.
